This past Mother’s Day weekend, it was an honor to see my wife, Kim, speak an encouraging message at our weekend experiences. But this blog post is just a tiny sample of what she taught. –Clay
God wants to take us to the next level for our lives. It’s so easy for us to become passive in our own lives, but that’s not where God wants us to be; He doesn’t want us to just be bystanders. Remember that as followers of Jesus, we carry with us the answer to the world’s problems! He one who gives us hope greater than anything that could ever be thrown our way.
When we put our trust in Jesus we’re able to look at our lives from a different perspective. We need to take the vision God has for our lives and live it out so that we can be active in the Church for Him. Once we begin following Christ, our purpose becomes helping others have breakthroughs in their lives, too.
Our circumstances may seem overwhelming at times, but remember that once you are in Christ, nothing can happen that will take you away from Him. Look at what Paul wrote about staying hopeful and confident in 2 Corinthians 1:2-10—“May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us.
We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.”
When things get messy, remind yourself that as a follower of Christ, God can take you through your messes to a place of confidence and freedom. Your biggest mess can become your greatest message when you surrender it to Him. Using what God bring you through, you can be bold for Him so that others can also experience what you have found in Him. God’s blessings aren’t just for us; they are to fill us up so much that they spill over and overflow into the lives of the people around us. So as you go about your life this week, be thinking about the ways that you can take what God has taught you through the craziness of life, and use those experiences to help others get to their next level.
