God got the Wise men’s attention with a star, which began their journey for peace. Matthew 2:10-11 says, “When they [the Wise men] saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child [Jesus] with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.” God led the Wise men to Jesus. Jesus was the peace giver they were looking for. Jesus was the King they had been taught about.
Maybe you’re thinking, “But if Jesus is the peacemaker, why isn’t there peace on earth?” Look at Luke 12:51, John 14:27, and John 16:23. Jesus allows us to have peace with God, peace in our thoughts and in our hearts, peace beyond our circumstances. Jesus brings forgiveness!
The Wise men completely yielded their lives to Jesus. It wasn’t praying a prayer or going through some class that brought them peace. They surrendered to Jesus through worship and allegiance.
Maybe you are searching for peace, trying to make sense of life. It all starts with a relationship with Jesus. He is the Prince of Peace, the only one who can make things right between you and God. Jesus is where true peace comes from.
