Invest In The Future

In Luke 16, Jesus tells a story about a man who thought about his future and invested in it. What are we, as followers of Christ, to invest in so that the Gospel will be advanced? And how do we do it?

Invest in getting people to heaven—Luke 16:9. Leverage what you have to impact the most lives for eternity by connecting people to the message of their Creator. Use what you already have in this life to help others spend life with us in eternity.

Situations: Use difficult situations to point people to Jesus and show them that He is the King of your heart. Look at Paul in Philippians.

Marriage: Marriage is used as a picture of God’s relationship with the church often throughout the Bible! Read Ephesians 5 to learn how you can use your marriage to show God’s glory.

Parenting: Proverbs 13:24 and Ephesians 6 teach you how to use parenting to invest into eternity.

Leadership: Romans 12:8 — lead diligently and with passion! Leadership is not just reserved for a minority!

Money: Jesus said in Luke 12:34, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Time: Proverbs is filled with verses about using your time wisely and not being lazy.

Your Body: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and that you were bought at a price. Honor God with your body.

Property: Be a steward of this tool that you have been given.

Attitude: Philippians 2:5 says that your attitude should be the same as Christ’s.

Jobs: Colossians 3:23 — “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than people.”

Abilities: God gave you your abilities and talents so that you would give Him the glory.

Spiritual Gifts: Believers receive spiritual gifts when they become believers. Use them to spread the Gospel!

  1. Better than a Dale Carnegie class 🙂 I pray that God’s Holy Spirit will grow my heart and will so that I may mature in these things.
