You Are A Display

Ephesians 3:10-11, 20—God’s purpose in all this [bringing Jews and Gentiles together under the authority of Christ] was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord…Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

We become God’s Church…to do nothing? To sit still and watch as life passes us by? Of course not! God salvages us so that we can be displays for Him to the world as well as the powers of the spiritual realm. He takes us into His Kingdom, His family, and through Him we can do more than we ever imagined.

When the people around us find out the we are Christians, they’re going to be watching us to see if we live out what we say we believe. We are walking, breathing, and talking displays of what Christ has done in our lives. 2 Corinthians 3:18 even says that we should be reflections of God’s glory as we live our lives: “all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Just think about what would happen if all of us in the Church understood this truth. We have been given an incredible gift. We were dead in our sin but “God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 1:9) That is amazing, and it shows how powerful and generous our God is. And He wants us to be His representatives on the Earth!

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Embrace that truth—if you are a Christian, all it takes is a seed of faith, and God will grow that seed into a fruit-producing plant, and you will be able to see Him do incredible things through you. By being a faith-filled display for Him, you can see great purpose and significance in your life.
