Our Common Thread

As we get Tangled…In One Direction, we have the potential to increase on a whole ‘nutha level! To see Bible-sized multiplication, Jesus has to be at the center of everything we do. He is the common thread we all are Tangled around! When we make him the Lord and Savior of our life, the King, Master, the CEO, the captain of our life, we put Him at the center! He becomes the “hub” of our life…everything is held together by Him, and revolves around Him! He doesn’t revolve around everything else that makes up our day-to-day activities. If we make Jesus just a portion, a part of our life, we are missing out on the incredible increase He has for us! Let everything that makes up our life revolve around Him, and as we are Tangled…In One Direction with the common thread of Jesus, we will see great increase in our life!

Don’t Throw In The Towel

It is okay to cry on your towel, just don’t throw it in. Wave your towel, surrender it to God’s love and wisdom, just don’t throw it in. Wipe the sweat off of your brow with it and move forward, just don’t throw it in. Throw it over your arm and serve with it, just don’t throw it in.

At the end of the day your towel may look like this: soiled, filthy, tattered, covered in blood, sweat, and tears…however, if you choose to pick up the towel, trust God, walk in the fullness of who He says you are, there is a GREAT exchange.

How To Recover From A Bad Day

Know God personally. God is not only a great and mighty Creator, He is also very personal. He wants a relationship with you. God doesn’t only want you to discover who He is; He wants you to know who YOU are in Him. Once you see the invisible God with your heart you will begin to accomplish the impossible with your life.

Know God is stable. Our God is the same yesterday as He will be tomorrow; the God we serve remains the same in our lack as He is in our plenty. He is stable! He does not waver in His purpose or His plan. He has marked you for a purpose, run after it.

Focus on picking up the towel and moving forward…using the moment for a SETUP, not a setback!

Ever Had A Bad Day?

Life can be like a roller coaster with its ups and downs, thrills and chills. When bad days come if we don’t recover, we can slip into depression, anger, revenge, bitterness, we can often just give up and miss so much. God doesn’t want you to become bitter, He wants you to become better. We learned about a really bad day as we looked at the life of David in 1 Samuel 30. David found himself stripped of everything: material belongings from his home burning down, loyalty when all of his friends turned their backs, family when they are taken hostage by terrorists, money when he goes bankrupt, not to mention that those friends wanted to kill him. Now THAT is a BAD day. What is incredible is that he did not throw in the towel; he picks it up and moves forward finding encouragement in his Lord. Bad days are inevitable, watch week 5 of our SETUP series to discover how to recover from a bad day.

Display Power

Last weekend we learned how to be an encourager. One way, to be an encourager, is by displaying the power of God. God does powerful things in and through His people in order for others to discover His power. There is no need for God to show up with His power if your not facing adversity. There is no need for God to show up with His power if there is something you can accomplish on your own. What good is a doctor if no one is sick?

Odds stacked against you? Consider that maybe those very challenges are needed SO THAT God can show up and display radical power through adverse situations!

Encourager vs. Enabler

There is a huge difference between being an encourager and being an enabler. An enabler will leave you where you are, fixing things for you, and rarely challenging you. Enablers leave you in a place of being condemned. An encourager will always point you to where you need to be.  Encouragers are always challenging you, but never condemning you

Hebrews 10:23-25 teaches us to be encouragers: “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

To encourage is defined as: “To inspire with courage, spirit, or confidence: to stimulate, to advance, to spur on.” In other words, to infuse courage in one another. Let us be encouragers and not enablers. ENCOURAGE SOMEONE TODAY!

Commit, Don’t Quit

God wants you to learn to stay planted SO THAT He can work in you. If you keep uprooting yourself you will miss out. You will just be a prostitute with your gifts instead of a powerful force that changes the world! Others may be telling you to rebel, God is telling you to stay planted. God is not a genie in a bottle that gives you everything you want, but He is a God who works wonders in your life when you are committed to Him. He will pour out His blessings on you and you will see major return if you stay committed. God’s plan doesn’t always feel good, but it is good. He is a progressive God that is changing and growing you, and will always push you beyond where you are. Unless you are committed to grow with Him you will miss what He has in store for you! PROSPERITY IS YOURS TO GRAB HOLD OF!

“‘For I know the plans I have for you’, says the LORD. ‘They are plans for good (Plans to Prosper you) and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope'”. –-Jeremiah 29:11

7 Comes Before 11

God knows the plan He has for us. The question is, are we willing to go through the process to discover it? Strong vision is a principle God teaches people so they have the endurance to run the race He has marked out for them! Vision must trump circumstances to have the capacity to contain the quantity of what God wants to do in you and through you! Vision is not all it takes to have the capacity to contain the quantity of What God wants to fulfill in us and through us. Jeremiah 29:7 – And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare. God wants to build verse 7 in our lives SO THAT we can handle verse 11. Remember Seven Comes Before Eleven…Working hard where I am today, Determines What I can handle tomorrow…My Work Ethic determines my Welfare!

Be Humble

God sized humility is walking in full confidence that you are who God says you are, not who everyone else says you should be. God didn’t call people to be clones. He has created you to be you, and designed you uniquely. Humble your heart before the Lord SO THAT you can discover who you are, because you are unique, with a purpose and a plan to live out with your life. You have to step out so you can step in to your God destiny. Don’t try to be EVERYTHING and miss THE THING that God has created you to be. You are a part, not the whole, so have God sized confidence in the part that God has created you to be.
